Potato Chips

I am not a huge fan of chocolate but give me a bag of potato chips and all of my self control disappears. In my twenties I worked a lot of Saturdays. I felt that I deserved a reward and so on my way home from work a quick detour by the grocery store was in order. My indulgence was a bag of barbecue potato chips. I made my way home and put my feet up in the lazy boy recliner. The entire bag was quickly consumed and the bag disposed of prior to my husband arriving home from his long day. It was my secret! I never gained a pound and my hubby never knew.....or did he!? Perhaps that is why my Christmas stocking this year contained a small bag of....you guessed it......barbecue potato chips! :-)

These days I do not buy chips of any kind because I would eat the whole thing, I would gain weight, and my husband would know. Besides that we no longer have a lazy boy recliner! Instead of eating the chips now I knit them.

Patterns for the knitted potato chip scarf are all over the internet. There are many variations but they all share the "floppy" waves that give it the characteristic shape.

I chose Noro yarn for mine. It contains a variety of colors. Gray, brown, green, beige, and yellow just to name a few. It should match many outfits and it will not make me gain an ounce.

Are you a "potato chip" gal? I think sticking with the knitted variety is the best way for me to go. At the end of the day I will have a new scarf not just an empty bag! :-)

  1. Pretty scarf!
Would love some good chis about now. Can't eat them to often due to the salt.
Wishing you a Wonderful New Year!

  2. As soon as I started reading this post, I was smiling because I don't care for cookies much or any sweets, but I'm the same way about chips - or really any salty snacks. I prefer salty/savory over sweet any day. Thankfully, like you - we don't buy them often, or I would be the same way. The only time I buy them is when my skinny, little teenager daughter requests them and then I have to be careful because if I see that she's left the bag out or I see in the cabinet, I might indulge a little.

Love what you're knitting. Pretty colors.
    Blessings always,
    Linda
