What motivates you? Is is money, success, family, career, faith? If you are like most people and you are being completely honest, it is probably a combination of things. Today at church the pastor spoke about motivation and success. With the New Year many are making resolutions. Make more money, loose weight, eat better, become more organized......sound familiar? I haven't really made any specific resolutions. I think that I would just like to remain consistent in the coming year. Consistency in each phase of my life would lead to a successful year. Eating well, exercising each day, maintaining a positive attitude, growing in my faith, and maintaining good relationships with family and friends are just a few of my goals for this year.
I am motivated to succeed. This morning I learned that there are three basic steps that will help me to reach my goad. First, I need to "Get Ready". As the pastor said, " Your performance will never be greater than your preparation". It may be taking a class. reading a self help book, opening up my Bible, or perhaps just having the positive mind set to succeed. Knowing that success cost something and it will probably take longer and cost more than expected.
Second, I am going to have to "Get Moving". Now, obviously if I exercise I have to get moving but moving also means that I will need to set goals. Having a vision and then opening my eyes and heading toward that dream!
Last, but certainly not least, I need to "Get It Together". Get rid of the negative thoughts. If a set back comes I need to persevere. Getting my "ducks in a row" and hitting the water!
Motivated to lead a consistent life in 2012. Sounds like a resolution to me! :-) Blessings!

Nice post. It would depend on what it is to be done as to what would motivate a person. Not sure I am saying that right - hope you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteThis was fun to read. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never made resolutions and don't plan to start. Instead, it's enough for me to live each day and just see what the Lord brings my way as opportunities.
That's what motivates me - new opportunities. It's been 5 years since I received the opportunity to write my newspaper column and now I begin praying - what next, Lord? For you see, I'm a person who gets bored easily and especially so over time, so a little time will go by and I'm motivated to pray and ask - "What next?" and wait and watch for that.
Hope you have a beautiful new year. I'm glad to see you writing again on the blog.
Linda :)
