Spring certainly put on a beautiful show this weekend! It was perfect in every way. Mr. DD and I worked in the yard on Saturday, but on Sunday we took the day off and had some fun.
After church Mr. DD treated me to an afternoon at the theater. Menopause The Musical is hilarious! As the title to my post says, it was soooo funny and soooo true. Hot flashes, flabby arms, cottage cheese thighs, forgetfulness, emotional outbursts.....you get the picture! Nothing was off limits and it was presented in such an entertaining way. It has been a long time since I have laughed that hard. My dear hubby loved it too. (we tried to get the two of us in a picture....it didn't work)
You must imagine a theater packed with 450 women and 4 men! Nature called for Mr. DD and he made his way to the "little boys" room. Unfortunately for Mr. DD, the women had unapologetically taken over the men's restroom! :-) So funny.....at least to me! My dear husband suddenly realized that nature really had not called at all. LOL
I also splurged and had a Steak and Shake hamburger and fries for lunch! Mrs. DD never ever does that! I tried to get fruit but they were out......really ....so funny and so true......really!
What a fun day you had. :) You look so pretty, your outfit is really fashionable and cute. I had to laugh when you wrote the description of menopause "hot flashes, cottage cheese thighs, forgetfulness, emotional outbursts"... I mean, oh dear what about those of us who are just naturally like that already, all of our lives? :D That lunch looks delicious to me right about now, when today my lunch was merely a 3 mile walk and no food. I'm a bit hungry. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful week,
Linda
I have heard Menopause is funny. Great picture - like the outfit. The burger looks good. It has been a long time since I had a cheeseburger - may have to treat myself.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
I've seen the musical, it is absolutely hilarious. I did NOT see it with my husband, though!! ;) You are completely lovely in your spring finery, not appearing at all the age to understand the subject matter of the aforementioned musical!!
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen that musical but if it does, I'll be there. I'll be sure to warn my husband ahead of time.
ReplyDeleteGreat weekend with your Mr. DD and what a pretty picture.
Falling in the aisle funny. Having a child in the arts sometimes gets me free passes to the theater. This performance was passed up by my daughter and her friends who chose to give the seats to people who would understand it better. life is good.
