Recitals. How many of you have either participated in or watched a recital? I have been to and participated in many recitals. My performances were in either piano or voice. I can remember well the butterflies in my stomach, the shaking hands, the rapid heartbeat, and that wonderful feeling of relief when it was over.
Yesterday Mr. DD and I attended a college recital for three talented young adults. One being my son. It was his Junior guitar recital. Of course, in the opinion of his Mom, he got an A+. They all did! I was there as a Mom but it certainly brought back all of those "recital feelings". Any time my children participate in recitals I say a special prayer......usually several prayers! :-) I have never prayed for them to win or even to be the best. I always pray for them to do their best and for God to give them a calm spirit.
Webster's dictionary defines recital as a public exhibition of skill. Mrs. DD's definition is a public exhibition of progress made in a particular area of expertise. No matter what your definition, all of yesterday's participants showed tremendous poise, talent, dedication, and progress. Good Job Matt, Kate, and Michael! You each get an A+ from Mrs. DD! :-)
You have good reason to be proud.
