Market Day Bliss

The weather in Mrs. DD land has been glorious! Not too hot or too cold......just right. One of the things I really look forward to this time of year is the local Farmer's Market. Usually the opening day is some time in May, but this year they started a little early.

Last Saturday I got up early and ran....OK drove......to the market. Fresh Spring vegetables, homemade breads, eggs, cheese, and beautiful fresh flowers all lured me in. The atmosphere was the best! I came home with lots of goodies, but my favorite by far were the tomatoes. They were just delicious. Combined with the fresh bread and lettuce, they made the perfect BLT.

I already have my list ready for this weekend. I plan to purchase a few herb plants and maybe some of the lovely fresh flowers. My hubby says the tomatoes are a must! How about you do you have a local Farmer's Market? I hope for your sake that you do!

  1. We have one, but I have not been yet this year - I think they are open now. To early for local produce here now.

  2. Unfortunately, we're in a very small town with no local farmer's market, but I do greatly enjoy such places. Look at all of the wonderful healthy items you picked up - that's lovely! :)

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog also about the "driving memories".

Hope you have a blessed weekend,
    Linda

  3. I envy your early produce. Here in N.E. we are just getting the gardens ready. Our farmers markets do run throughout the year. Right now it is filled with root vegetables local meats, wine and bread some canned products and homemade soap. Tomatoes are nowhere to be seen at this time and that to me is the best. We are dreaming of tomato and cuke sandwiches on home made bread. MMMMMMM
