My daughter found these J. Crew flip flops on sale this weekend. She was kind enough to pick me up a couple of pairs and I love them! J. Crew has so many different styles it is hard to pick just one!
Last summer, when I was in Texas with my Dad, I discovered Switch Flops. I wish I had invented these! I walked what seemed like a hundred miles a day and my feet started wearing out. Fortunately for me the hotel gift shop carried these shoes and they were my salvation. They last and keep their shape better than any flip flops I have ever had. You can get several different heel heights. Mine are the traditional flat sole.
The thing that makes them so unique is that you can switch the straps. They are attached with velcro. When you want a different look just pull off the ribbon strap cover and replace it with a different strap. You can see I have several different straps. I am on the look out for a pink and green strap along with a nautical strap.
The soles come in either brown or black. Last year I bought brown and this year I added black. As you can see I switched the straps and now I have a different look! I have found that these are great to talk along on trips. You know that flip flops don't take up a lot of room and neither do the extra straps. You can coordinate these with almost all of your outfits.
Gotta go! I am headed out and about wearing my "designer" flip flops. I think you would have to agree that we have come "a long way baby" at least in the flip flop department! Have a great day and remember to let your feet breathe! LOL
I seriously love flip flops too and wish I could wear them year round. Just bought a really cute pair that have a little heel on them - that's different for me. :) I'll have to check out the JCrew flips. I love that store anyway. They have the cutest tops in there.
ReplyDeleteI think it is great that flip flops have been around so long and appeal to girls and women both. The Switch Flops are fabulous!! They do look like designer flip flops.
ReplyDeleteSince my girls and I wear the same size shoes, we really have a nice assortment. How lucky am I?? And they are great for sight seeing. No blisters!!

I love flip flops! The ones you found in Texas are so cool and your JCrew ones are too cute...enjoy. hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteThe switch flops are great! I love them. You're right, we've "evolved" from the dime store variety. Do you remember the "flip-flop" flap that was created a few summers ago when a women's sports team greeted the President at the White House wearing flip-flops? I believe they are so much a part of our culture anymore that some young women do not differentiate them from any other footwear!
ReplyDeleteI love my flip-flops! That's pretty much all I wear in the summer when I'm not at work.
ReplyDeleteI even have flip-flop tan lines :)

Those are so cute. I have seen many that I would like to have - But!! I have never been able to wear them. I can't stand to have the strap between my toes. Years ago, I tried to adjust to a pair and couldn't. :(

I adore flip flops and wear them all summer long
ReplyDeleteI had wondered about the switch flops when I saw them in the store
Thanks for your review~
Flip flops have come a long way for sure! I love the switch flops, they're a great idea, I've never seen them before. I personally like a little bling on my flip flops!
ReplyDeleteI, too love flip flops. I love those switch flops...I've never heard of them before.

Cool flip flops!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen the changeable strap kind. I wonder if they have them to match the Miche handbags? I've been loving the lime green Miche hand bag cover. I bet matching lime green flip flops would look great!
We use to call them Zories or (I hate to say it but...) Thongs. Pretty sure they were made from old tires because they never wore out.
ReplyDeleteLove your choice of straps and styles.
Go and get a great pedicure!
I got my first pair of flip flops in California, when I was 14. We were out there for a couple of months. When I returned to Missouri, all my friends thought those were the neatest things they ever saw, LOL! My friend JoAnn still remembers those flip flops. I love to buy LL Bean flip flops, these days. Yes, I am still wearing them, over 50 years later.
ReplyDeleteAs Christine mentioned, I remember when they were called thongs!
I'm going to go google them right now! You could even make your own ribbon/velcro straps and bedazzle them any way you want to. Oh boy, now I'm excited! Thx Mrs. DD!
ReplyDeleteWe saw those flip flops when we were in Charleston, but I did not get any. I have so many flip flops, that I had to refrain. It is the neatest idea!! I'm like you, I wish I had invented it!!! I live in sandals/flip flops all summer too. Have a great week. Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteI remember the old fashioned flip flops. They were terrible! There are so many cute ones now a days, it is hard to choose a favorite pair.
ReplyDeleteFlip Flops are my favorite shoe! Luckily I can even wear them to work, as long as I change out of them when attending a meeting! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the ones you showed here and I had to check out the Switch Flops - cute!
Thank you for your nice review, i have to keep those in mind!
ReplyDeleteHappy summer!
Zlaty :)
Love these! Have a fabulous Day!!

I wear flip flops all summer, inside the house and out. I have slipper flip flops for inside that are crocheted with yarn around the straps so they are soft and fluffy.
ReplyDeleteThose are perfect summer time flip flops... I would like to pick one of them...
